Overview
DocScanner is a local-first document scanning app. This policy explains how the app handles information when you scan documents, import images, create PDFs, and share files.
Information we collect
DocScanner does not require an account and does not collect personal information through developer-operated servers. We do not use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, subscriptions, or cloud sync in the current app.
Documents and files
Scanned documents, imported images, PDFs, names, and related file metadata are stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. They are not automatically uploaded to Zedline or any other server.
Sharing and export
When you choose to share, save a copy, or export a document, Android sends the selected file to the app or destination you choose. This action is user-initiated. The receiving app or service handles the file under its own privacy policy.
Permissions and services
The app uses the document scanner service provided through Google Play services for scanning. Camera and gallery access are requested only when needed for a scan or import. The app does not use these permissions for advertising or background collection.
Retention and deletion
Your documents remain on your device until you delete them in DocScanner or remove the app and its local data. Because DocScanner does not maintain a developer cloud copy, we cannot recover files deleted from your device.
Children's privacy
DocScanner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app's data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a new update date.
